Complexities

In COMPLEXITIES, Patricia Long reflects on the stresses and divisions of contemporary life. Drawing inspiration from harakeke (New Zealand flax), she explores its simplicity, resilience, and enduring presence as a metaphor for human qualities we seek today — strength, unity, and tolerance. Through this work, Long positions harakeke as a powerful counterpoint to the polarisation of our times, inviting us to consider what humanity might learn from the tenacity and balance of the natural world.
