The Art Exchange Collection is a show that features works acquired by the Art Exchange group, a group based in Whakatāne who have a keen eye for art. Together they have purchased works from award-winners of the Molly Morpeth Awards from 2012 – 2022. This collection is the result of many hours of deliberation each year of the Molly Morpeth Canaday Awards. The pieces chosen have helped the group develop an understanding and enjoyment of both challenging and likeable art.

Waitangi, Why Tangi, Why we Tangi is a group exhibition that features works that respond to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. The works critique the contrasts and dualities this documents has created and offers provocation for viewers to ponder.

Whakatāne Museum and Arts runs an exciting Kaiārahi / Visitor Host programme in the galleries at Te Kōputu a te Whanga a Toi — Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre.
The Whakatāne Museum is located in the Eastern Bay of Plenty and serves the Whakatāne District and the Mataatua rohē. The museum operates over two premises.
